Your Husband’s Leg is Broken 8

In the pictures that were taken, Shou-wife looked like a frightened hamster, with his widened eyes. Next to him, Broken-Leg Gong had a calm smile instead. Shou-wife felt dissatisfied but Broken-Leg Gong said he really liked the pictures. He even said that he would print them out to keep them in his wallet. Shou-wife instantly transformed into a hamster that was happily running in its cage.

After dinner, Shou-wife and Broken-Leg Gong returned to the hotel. This was the first time they would be sleeping in the same room. Shou-wife used the milk scented shower gel to shower and then put on his pyjamas with little bears.

At that time, Broken-Leg Gong was lying on the bed playing with his phone. When he saw Shou-wife coming out from the bathroom, his entire body froze for 2 seconds.

Shou-wife asked, “What’s wrong?” 

Broken-Leg Gong replied, “Nothing, I am going to go shower.”

Then, he threw his phone aside and rushed into the bathroom. Shou-wife did not know if it was an illusion caused by the light but he thought he saw a suspicious red flush on Broken-Leg Gong’s face.

Broken-Leg Gong forgot to lock his phone and the screen was still lighted up. Shou-wife had an eyesight of 5.3 degrees. With just a glance, he saw something extraordinary. The screen showed that Broken-Leg Gong had posted a question on a forum: What should I do when I am sharing a room with my boyfriend for the first time? 

Everyone replied: Love ah ah. 

When Broken-Leg Gong came out of the bathroom, Shou-wife had already laid flat on the bed, his face all flushed. Broken-Leg Gong was only wearing a pair of underwear, with a bulging package. Even Shou-wife’s neck became red. Broken-Leg Gong gave Shou-wife a glance, did not say anything and returned to his own bed. Shou-wife felt a bit disappointed. 

After the lights were turned off, the both of them laid under their own duvets. Shou-wife could not fall asleep. The moment he thought of how Broken-Leg Gong was just sleeping less than 5 metres away from him, his heart would not calm down. After he tossed and turned several times, Broken-Leg Gong opened his mouth, “Can’t sleep?” 

Shou-wife felt embarrassed. “Did I disturb you?” 

“No.” Broken-Leg Gong said, “Want to chat for awhile?” 

What should they talk about? Shou-wife thought about it before asking Broken-Leg Gong a profound question. “Do your parents know you like men?” 

“They know.”

“Then, did they reject you?” 

Broken-Leg Gong chuckled. “They are not supportive about it, but it is not until the extent that they rejected me. Both my parents are university professors, and are considered to be more open-minded. Since I was little, they have never interfered much in my life. As long as I think it is good, they are alright.”

“That’s good.” Shou-wife hid half his face under the duvet and replied softly. 

Broken-Leg Gong sensed that something was not right. “Did your family reject you?” 

“Mn.” Shou-wife’s voice became softer. 

When Shou-wife was three years old, his parents got divorced. His mom took him and got remarried. His father was in the wholesale business and with his mother, they were both very busy. They did not have time to take care of little Shou. When Shou-wife started attending elementary school, each time he arrived home, the first thing he did was to cook. The little Shou-wife stood on a small stool to cook, and then waited for his parents to come back and eat. 

When he was ten, the parents gave birth to a younger brother. Shou-wife who did not receive much attention in the first place, had all the attention transferred to his younger brother. When his younger brother wanted the latest Lego set, his parents bought it for him. When his younger brother wanted a fashionable sweater, his parents bought it for him. When his younger brother liked his toy, Shou-wife’s parents made him give it up to his younger brother. When Shou-wife refused to do so, he was beaten up by his stepfather. 

When Shou-wife started attending university, he was not given pocket money. He had to depend on himself to survive. Thus, other than attending class, his free time was used to work part-time. He had very little contact with his family. At times, he did not even return home for the New Year. His family did not even give him a phone call either. 

Later, when he went home and came out of the closet, his stepfather did not even think about it and drove him out of the house. All these were what Shou-wife had expected. 

Broken-Leg Gong listened to Shou-wife narrate about his past and remained silent for awhile. 

“Are you very sad about it?” He eventually asked. 

“It’s fine. I have never been loved before, so I can’t really talk about any disappointment.”

Broken-Leg Gong had the sudden urge to hug Shou-wife. So that was what he did. 

He got up and squeezed on to the single bed that Shou-wife was on and pulled Shou-wife tightly into his embrace.
